Technology is starting to have an impact on the property market. Forward thinkers are starting to understand the implications of changes coming that will affect every area of our lives.
Driverless cars and trucks, online trading and warehouse automation technology are just some of the changes.
The demand for large warehouses continues to increase but also there is an emerging demand for smaller inner city sites, so that supply times are reduced.
There is also a new trend for the warehouse footprint to be reduced, but for the facility to be multi-storey. This is achieved by using fully automated picking systems.
With increasing congestion in our rapidly growing city combined with consumer’s demanding faster delivery times the age-old “location, location” is becoming even more significant.
We can no longer assume that the current warehouse format will suit all future needs, providing opportunities for modern developers and the astute investor.
